Domain
The domain is the highest rank in biological classification. It is above kingdom. There are three types of domains—Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya. Archaea and Bacteria are single-celled prokaryotic microorganisms. Prokaryotes don’t have a distinct nucleus with a membrane or specialized structures called organelles. The domain Eukarya contains eukaryotes—organisms whose cells contain a nucleus and organelles.
Wild cats are members of the domain Eukarya.
