ARCAS
Non-profit Guatamalan organization formed by citizens to improve the chances of survival and conservation of endangered species, including the jaguar.
Border Cats Working Group
Based in Switzerland, a border cats research and conservation group with a focus on the U.S. jaguar, jaguarundi and ocelot.
Borderlands Jaguar Detection Project
Operated by the University of Arizona’s Wild Cat Research and Conservation Center, this project monitors jaguars in southern Arizona and New Mexico.
Uses camera traps and scat analysis, focusing on individuals like “El Jefe” to advocate for wildlife corridors.
Center for Biological Diversity
At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants.
Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive.
Jaguar Conservation Fund
Promotes the conservation of the jaguar, its natural prey and habitat throughout the species’ geographical range, as well as its peaceful coexistence with man, through research & conservation strategies.
Jaguar Conservation in the Chihuahuan Desert
Naturalia works in the Chihuahuan Desert (Coahuila and Chihuahua) to protect jaguars in arid landscapes.
The information comes from WWF Canada’s page on jaguar conservation, which details the Selva Maya project as part of their broader Jaguar 2030 Strategy. The page specifically mentions their work in the Maya Forest and efforts to mitigate human-jaguar conflict, aligning with the project description.
Uses camera traps, habitat restoration, and non-lethal deterrents with ranchers to support jaguar dispersal.
Jaguar Conservation Network
A portal for information and collaboration between jaguar researchers, conservationists, and people affected by jaguar predation on livestock.
Jaguar Guardians Program
Run by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), this program operates in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula and Chiapas.
WCS’s broader jaguar conservation efforts in Mexico, including community monitoring in the Yucatán, are described in their program sections. Additional details were drawn from a 2018 WCS blog post about jaguar conservation in Latin America, which mentions their work with local communities in Mexico.
This program operates in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula and Chiapas, focusing on community-based monitoring in areas like the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, training locals as “jaguar guardians,” and implementing conflict mitigation strategies.
Jaguar Protection Program – AES Panama | Yaguara Panama Foundation
Supports the conservation of wildcats in Panama.
Conservation of wildcats and prey species through public-private partnerships and human-jaguar conflict management in Panama.
Northern Jaguar Project
Protecting the world's northernmost jaguars.
Operating in Sonora, Mexico, near the U.S. border, this binational effort protects the northernmost jaguar population through the 56,000-acre Northern Jaguar Reserve. It collaborates with ranchers to reduce human-wildlife conflict, restores habitat (e.g., water conservation, erosion control), and monitors species to guide conservation. The project also aims to create safe-passage corridors toward the U.S. for potential jaguar recolonization.
OSA Conservation
Committed to the preservation of the Osa Peninsula's biodiversity and wild cat conservation.
Panama Wildlife Conservation
The Jaguar Conservation Project - conservation campaigns and strategies
Panther Ridge Conservation Center
A Florida conservation center that provides a home, haven and hope for some of the world's most majestic and endangered big cats.
Panthera
Panthera focuses its conservation efforts on imperiled cats, including tigers, lions, jaguars, snow leopards, pumas and cheetahs.
Primero Conservation
Carnivore conservation and management; jaguar, ocelot, puma and cohabitating wildlife.
Pronatura Noroeste
Northwestern Mexico jaguar conservation.
Pronatura Noroeste focuses on jaguar conservation in northwestern Mexico (Sonora and Sinaloa), using camera traps, habitat restoration, and community engagement to reduce human-jaguar conflict.
Jaguar conservation in Sonora and Sinaloa through habitat protection and community engagement. Monitors jaguar populations using camera traps, promotes coexistence with ranchers by compensating for livestock losses, and restores critical habitats like riparian zones. It also collaborates with local communities to develop sustainable land-use practices, reducing human-jaguar conflict in key corridor areas.
Rainforest Trust
Safeguarding critical rainforest habitats and wildlife.
For more than 30 years, Rainforest Trust has been safeguarding critical habitats to protect species like jaguars, working with local partners to develop projects aimed at securing vital habitats.
Rewilding Argentina
Reintroduces jaguars into areas where they have been extirpated, such as the Iberá wetlands, aiming to restore ecosystems and promote eco-tourism.
We are a group of conservationists and activists united by a commitment to restoring natural ecosystems, respect for the intrinsic value of all species, and the dream of establishing development models for rural communities in a context of coexistence with nature.

University of Arizona: Wild Cat Research and Conservation
Conserving wild cats, their prey, and their habitat in perpetuity.
The Wild Cat Center (WCC) accomplishes its mission/vision through five areas of focus: Wildlife Monitoring, Citizen Science, Data Science, Genetics, Education and Outreach. The Center has led multiple trail camera wildlife monitoring projects since 2002. Our projects have included the long-term monitoring of all four wild cats in the southwestern United States, monitoring wildlife in Namibia, and monitoring fishing cats in India and Sri Lanka.
