Search Tips
🔍 How to Improve Your Search Results
Want to search for lions, but not sea lions? Use the “minus” sign. Just type:
lions -"sea lions"
This tells the search tool to show results about lions and exclude anything that mentions “sea lions.”
👉 Examples:
- lions -“sea lions” — Finds articles about wild lions only
- lion conservation -“sea lions” — Focuses on lion conservation, excluding sea lion content
You can exclude any word or phrase by adding a minus sign - before it, like this:
big cats -"sea lions" -"marine mammals"
Note: In the upper right-hand corner of the search results page, you can sort the list be relevance and date.
